Reviews Overview

Most Liked

First and foremost, the attentive service at The Emperor's Kitchen deserves applause. The staff members are known for their friendly demeanor, creating a warm atmosphere for guests. Regulars appreciate the generous portion sizes, ensuring that diners leave fully satisfied. Many rave about the sweet and sour chicken balls, which are deeply loved for their crispy texture and rich flavor. The cleanliness of the restaurant impresses many patrons, and it's clear that hygiene standards are a top priority. Moreover, the variety of the menu allows for countless return visits, as there's always something different to try. Whether it's the delightful chow mein or the special fried rice, every dish hits the spot.

Most Disliked

Despite its many merits, some guests have voiced concerns regarding the food's saltiness, likely due to added MSG, which can catch some diners off guard. The fact that The Emperor's Kitchen does not offer delivery may deter those looking for convenience, especially on nights when one feels lazy to step out. Additionally, the cash-only policy might not suit everyone, especially those used to card payments. While the restaurant's clean and casual atmosphere is generally praised, a few visitors have noted that during peak hours, it might feel a bit crowded, leading to longer wait times. Despite these drawbacks, the charm of the restaurant tends to outweigh these minor inconveniences.

Firstly, extremely friendly and attentive counter service. Couldn't have been more helpful. The menu is comprehensive and varied. Prices reasonable and extra-large portions available. The food we had, chow mein, chop suey, fried chicken, special rice, crackers, was cooked well and was very nice. Lastly, the place is VERY CLEAN !! The counter surfaces, the seats for customers and especially the stainless extract hood over the cooking area (you can see it clearly) which was sparkling! A fine example of kitchen and public hygiene. 5 Stars is well deserved.

Lovely lady taking the orders and bagging up. Food is a little bit salty, probably the MSG but we have this as a treat maybe once a year. The seaweed and chicken balls are delicious. They don't do delivery so that's another reason why we don't have this often as the takeaway nights we have mean we don't move from our house! No cooking! Just eating. Prices are about right for the area .

I've been going here since I was a kid with family. Great takeaway and worth collecting it as the staff are so polite and friendly. Haven't been in a while, and they recognised me after a few years. Would recommend this gorgeous food and hope to go back more frequently.

Great local takeaway. Cash only and don’t deliver so they’re collection only but you can call ahead to order. Well worth the effort. Tasty food, friendly team.

Very friendly and fantastic food!! Good prices and always consistent with flavours. We used to pick up food when we lived in the area and although we moved nearly 20 miles away, we always pop back if we fancy a takeaway. We wouldn't suggest any other place to go!
